July 2019 - Marina's Gender Reveal Party
Sister Stems is gaining a new addition to the team the first week of January 2020!
With my gender reveal doctor’s appointment scheduled around the same time as my 28th (omg) birthday, my husband and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get our families together to throw a birthday / gender reveal party.
(If you know Alexandra and I, you know we’re always looking for an excuse to throw a theme party ;)
The party was held in my Mom’s backyard on a beautiful summer evening. Foregoing the typical ‘pink and blue’ gender reveal theme, I went for blues and oranges, incorporating personal elements like citrus (for our wholesale produce company), and blue evil eyes (for our Greek roots). Long tables topped with white linens were pushed together for family style dining and decorated with tropical-inspired arrangements of garden roses, orchids, and palms, with scattered, fresh citrus fruits and white pillar candles.
Keeping it casual, we went with foods that I was craving at that time during my 1st trimester - thin crust pizza and salad! For dessert, we ordered fun, custom sugar cookies decorated with evil eyes and oranges from our friends at Classic Bakery, along with cupcakes (confetti flavor for my hubby!) and the most beautiful naked birthday cake (lemon cake with blackberry drizzle - YUM) from my friend Samantha at Butter and Blade. Best of all, Samantha hid sprinkles inside the center of the cake so when we cut it open after our big reveal, we had a reveal all over again!
Check out all the pretty pics, thanks to my sweet cousin Diana, for an inside look at this extra special day.
& a BIG thanks to my fabulous vendor friends who helped bring my vision to life:
